Terms of Use

These conditions govern use of this website. Accessing its pages, reading its material, or using a search feature means that you accept all terms stated below. Do not continue to use the site if you disagree with any condition.

NO FCRA USE. This privately operated website is not connected with a local, state, or federal government agency. Neither the site nor its advertising partners provides a service intended for credit decisions, employment screening, tenant screening, insurance underwriting, or another purpose governed by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). Its purpose is to help readers locate Dolores County and Colorado criminal-record resources. It is neither a private investigation business nor a consumer reporting agency.

1. What This Website Is

This is a privately run reference resource with no government affiliation. It does not maintain official records, retrieve records on a user's behalf, conduct an official background check, or submit legal papers for anyone.

The resource identifies custodians of Dolores County criminal records, including the sheriff's office, criminal courts, the Colorado Bureau of Investigation Biometric Identification and Records Unit, and the Colorado Sex Offender Registry. It may also provide access to outside research tools.

2. Rules for Using This Site

By using the site, you agree not to:

  • Use the site in violation of federal, Colorado, or local law
  • Threaten, stalk, or harass a person with information found here
  • Rely on site content for lending, hiring, housing, or insurance decisions
  • Attempt unauthorized access to any system or restricted function
  • Deploy a scraper, bot, or other automated process against the pages
  • Interfere with site operation or another visitor's access

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

Information obtained here or through a linked tool must not be used to stalk, harass, threaten, intimidate, or discriminate against anyone. Such conduct is forbidden and may be criminal. This restriction is especially important for Colorado Sex Offender Registry information maintained by CBI. Colorado law limits misuse, and conduct directed at a registrant can carry criminal consequences. Registry access supports public-safety awareness, not vigilantism, employment blacklisting, or housing discrimination.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

This website is not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA and does not create credit reports, consumer reports, or background checks. Its advertising partners likewise do not offer tools designed to evaluate applicants, rental requests, insurance rates, or creditworthiness. You must not use information from the site or a linked tool to:

  • Decide whether to hire or fire someone
  • Screen potential renters or housing applicants
  • Judge creditworthiness or set insurance premiums
  • Determine who qualifies for licenses, permits, or government programs
  • Do anything else that falls under FCRA rules

When a background check is needed for a regulated purpose, use the appropriate official Colorado Bureau of Investigation channel or a screening provider that complies with the FCRA.

5. No Legal Advice

Site content is not legal advice. General information about Dolores County records cannot determine how a charge, conviction, warrant, or adult record-sealing rule affects a specific person. Consult a Colorado-licensed attorney for advice about an individual matter.

6. No Warranties

All material is offered "as is," without any guarantee that:

  • The information here is accurate, complete, or current at any given time
  • The site will stay up and running without interruptions
  • Our pages are free of errors, bugs, or security holes
  • Results from our partner search tools will be thorough or accurate

Criminal records can change when charges are filed or dismissed and when adult files are sealed or eligible juvenile matters are expunged. Updates may not be reflected promptly, so gaps can occur. Nothing published here is an official statement by a court, sheriff, CBI, or another government office.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

Links may lead to sheriff pages, court portals, Colorado agencies, legal-aid resources, and outside search services. Following one takes the visitor to a platform outside our control. We do not accept responsibility for that provider's content, availability, fees, or data practices. Review the provider's own terms before proceeding.

8. Intellectual Property

Text, code, graphics, and logos are owned by Dolores County Criminal History or its content partners. Written permission is required before copying, modifying, distributing, or creating derivative material from that content.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for damages arising from site use, including a decision based on information found here or through an external service.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless against claims, demands, or legal proceedings caused by your site use or violation of these terms, including related legal fees and costs.

11. Governing Law

Colorado law governs these terms. Any dispute arising from use of the site must be brought in a court located in Colorado.

12. Changes to These Terms

These terms may be revised at any time. A revision becomes effective when the updated language is posted here.

13. Cutting Off Access

Access may be limited or terminated at any time, for any reason, and without advance notice.

14. Severability

If a court finds one provision invalid or unenforceable, all remaining provisions continue in effect. The affected language will be modified only to the extent required to make it enforceable.

15. Questions

Questions about these conditions may be submitted through the Contact page.
